Collegiate Students Investigate Conditions Affecting Children Who Work in Sierra Leone’s Diamond Mines

March 13, 2007/ Marilyn Kaufman

Hundreds of children work in the diamond mines in Sierra Leone for little or no pay. To draw attention to this important issue, FNN producers partnered with Ms Sandra Littlejohn’s speech class to produce interviews with activists from Sierra Leone, audio commentaries and PSAs.

Brittany Jones reports on the conditions for children and what can be done.

Myesa Holland reports on health conditions.

Dominique Olfus reports on the response from the government of Sierra Leone.

Diamond Milan reports on sexual abuse.
